Looking for a woodland walk that’s close to Inverness and perfect for both two legs and four?
Just seconds from the A9, Daviot Woods offers a peaceful 5K trail through tall pines and open clearings. Whether you’re after a quick stretch or a longer wander, you’ll find both short and long routes to suit. There’s even a handy free walking guide available at the entrance to the forest. You can also read more about the routes on Walk Highlands.
Start (or end) with us
We’re based in the same car park as the Daviot Woods entrance – making North Gateway Cafe the perfect place to fuel up before your walk or treat yourself afterwards. Grab a coffee to go, or stay a while and enjoy our brunch dishes, cakes, or Friday night pizzas.
Dog-friendly all the way
We know adventures are better with company, so dogs are welcome everywhere at North Gateway – inside, outside, and in our marquee. After a 5K trot through the forest, your pup deserves a treat too. Our doggie menu includes luxury goodies from our friends at Pampered Pets’ Highland Hounds range.
